Wicked World
I was just thinking of the Cat Stevens' song "Wild World", and I think it would be more accurate to say we live in a "Wicked World" instead. In the last few weeks that my book has been out, I have had so many people come up to me and tell me intimate details of their lives. I think it is because I have shared so many person and intimate thoughts in my book that they are reciprocating. I have heard so many stories of woe as of late. I don't want to relate the details, as they will be an invasion of people's privacy, but the things I have heard as so bad that I can but help to think that we live in a wicked world. I'm talking really bad . . . stuff that would give you nightmares to hear about them.
In one of my podcasts, I related a C.S. Lewis quote, that read "We were promised suffering. That is part of the program. It is even written, 'Blessed is he who morns.'" The quote is absolutely accurate, and I can't but help but think that those who say people are good and the world is good are extremely naive. That world is full of suffering and evil. That is no to say there is a complete absence of anything good; this is not hell either, but someplace in between heaven and hell.
There is an acquaintance of mine who is going through tough times, both in interpersonal relationships and in dealing with the impending loss of a grandparent. If you are spiritual, please pray for her. She needs comfort. I normally don't write about other people in my blog, but I know this is so important; I saw her red, puffy eyes today after she had been crying for quite some time. Please pray for her.
