Today's Happenings

This morning I got up at six o'clock in the morning after having gone to bed around 3AM. As I was walking to Starbucks after awaking, I saw a familiar SUV in the parking lot—my brother's. I found him working in the back of the establishment, and I distracted him from his work for about half an hour before leaving.

Around seven thirty my mother picked me up at my place and we drove to Lake Harriet for the mental health walk put on by SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education). We were way too early, and although they had some donuts that I ate, I was starving for some meat. After the presentation and walk were over, I finally was able to get a brat from the concession stand near the bandshell. As I was walking I was amazed to see all the six-pack abs on so many of the girls jogging and rollerblading around the lake. I used to have good abs, but now I have a big "Medicine Belly." That is, of course, a large gut put on by the weight gain caused by psychiatric drugs.

I took a two hour nap after I got home from the walk, and then it was over to my parents' house for a barbecue. It was a fine time. There were many people there, and so I thought it would be tough dealing with all the commotion and stress, but it actually wasn't bad at all; I'm thankful for that.
