I received an email today from an associate producer for the television show Twin Cities Live- 5 Eyewitness News asking if I would be willing to appear on the show to discuss mental illness and my new book. I had heard something was in the works, so it didn't come as a complete surprise, but I'm absolutely thrilled. I have been calling many people to let them know, and for those who I wasn't able to reach for one reason or another, please view this entry as my announcement to you.

When I told my mother about appearing on the show, the first words out of her mouth were, "You better get a haircut." I got the exact same thing from my sister. Very funny. I have been meaning to get a haircut for a while now, but I have been so busy with this book. But don't worry, I have a hair appointment tomorrow.

The show is broadcast live, and I will be appearing on Monday, August 11 between 3pm and 4pm on channel 5-KSTP (ABC). That is only a week away. The segment is scheduled for about four minutes. It will be my first television appearance (aside from a small cable access spot back in high school). Please tune in next Monday—I'll try not to disappoint. I'm sure it will be a very interesting interview, especially if we are able to get into all the craziness of my life.

FYI: When I just spelled checked this entry (which I should do more often in my entries), the suggested spelling that came up for "KSTP" was gestapo. I'm glad I'm not superstitious, as that would be viewed as a bad omen.
